Extra Credit
Explain backchecking. What is it, why do we do it, and when?
Coach's idea: Backchecking is when forwards skate hard back toward their own net after the other team gets the puck. You pick up an attacker so your defense isn't outnumbered. Do it every time you lose the puck in their end. (Dad wrote one sentence in 1997. The coach wrote: "We will talk about backchecking as a team. There are a few more things to backchecking than this.")
